Early Years Foundation Stage

Our part-time pupils (age 3 to 4) and Reception pupils (those in their first year of full time education), learn through play, both inside and outside, to develop their skills.  This helps the children to meet the different curriculum requirements for this age group and includes:

  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  • Communication and Language
  • Physical Development
  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding of the World
  • Expressive Arts and Design

Further information regarding the Early Years curriculum can be found in the Early Years Framework.

We also base much of our teaching in the Foundation Unit on the non-statutory Development Matters publication otherwise known as Early Years Outcomes.
